🐾 WILLOW’S RESCUE: EVERYONE SAID “SOMEBODY DO SOMETHING.” SO WE DID. 🐾Willow’s story started with a post in a local group about an injured dog who needed help.
Then networkers got hold of the post, and we saw her again. And again.
The comments poured in:“Someone needs to help her.”“Somebody do something!”
So Justice for Samson did something.
After a stressful weekend with no updates, things finally began falling into place. The finder reached out to me. A trapper reached out to me. We coordinated a group chat, put everyone together, and started making a plan.
There were a lot of moving pieces, but there was one thing we all agreed on:
Willow could not be left out there injured.
The plan was made. Once Willow was safely trapped, she would be transported to Neighborhood Vet Center in Nederland, Texas, where she could finally receive the medical attention she desperately needed.
And this morning…🩷 WE GOT HER.
🩷That frightened, injured little dog we’d been watching through posts was finally safe. And despite everything she has been through, just look at that face. Willow is smiling.
🥹Now comes the hard part: finding out exactly what happened to her and what it will take to get her healthy again.
Several wonderful people pledged donations toward Willow’s medical care before we committed to taking her.
We are praying those pledges come through.Justice for Samson is already carrying approximately $1,800 in outstanding veterinary expenses at our primary vet.
Financially, taking on another medical case was the last thing we needed. But there was an injured dog waiting for someone to stop saying “somebody should help” and actually help.We couldn’t say no.Now we’re asking you to stand behind Willow with us.
❤️🩹 PLEASE HELP US HELP WILLOWEvery $5, $10, $20 donation adds up. If you pledged for Willow, now is the time we desperately need you to honor that pledge. Her journey didn’t end when the trap closed. That’s where her journey back to health began.Donations can be made directly toward Willow’s veterinary care🐾

Today Willow is no longer an injured dog that everyone is sharing on Facebook. She has a name. She has people fighting for her. She is safe. And now she has a chance. 🐾💙Please donate if you can. If you can’t, SHARE WILLOW’S STORY. Sometimes a share is exactly how the right person finds the dog who needs them.Justice for Samson Animal RescueBecause “somebody needs to do something” sometimes means us. ❤️

09/16/2026 Day 2
This from Neighborhood vet clinic . Lauren is the rescue coordinator .
Good morning, Lauren here with an update on the bestest girl Willow today. We all have fallen in love with her sweet goofy self in a day lol. She is doing well and seems to love everybody and knows at least one or two commands and has some pretty good leash manners. I was going to give her a bath this morning just to help with some of the residual itching from the fleas but then plan to do her first phovia treatment this afternoon. Sweet girl doesn’t seem to know about toys and prefers to lay on the towel vs the nice cushiony bed I gave her this morning. I was also going to see about getting her on the schedule next week for that spay and they will give the microchip while she is sedated for that so she won’t feel that big poke if that plan sounds good?
09/17/2026 Day three
🐾 Willow Update: The Cone of Shame Has Arrived! 😂💙
On September 16, 2026, Willow received her first wound treatment, and unfortunately for her, that came with the dreaded cone of shame!
Lauren at Neighborhood Vet Center said Willow did great while they cleaned her wound and treated it with Phovia, followed by SSD ointment to help the healing process. The cone became necessary because Miss Willow immediately tried to lick and chew at her wound. Apparently, she has some opinions about her new fashion accessory. 😂
The best news? Willow is an absolute sweetheart. She is getting wonderful reviews from the staff, and it seems everyone who meets her falls in love with her. ❤️
We are incredibly thankful we were able to step up and save this sweet girl. Now the healing begins, one treatment and one day at a time.
Keep going, Willow! We’ve got you. 🐾💙

Willows Healing Journey Days 4-5 09/18/2026
🐾 Willow’s Healing Journey | Days 4 & 5 ✝️Sweet Willow continues to make progress. Her veterinary team says she’s eating and drinking well, enjoying her walks, and they’re seeing encouraging changes as that enormous wound begins the long process of healing.Today’s song, “There Was Jesus,” feels especially fitting.Because sometimes God doesn’t arrive with thunder. Sometimes He arrives through the hands that trap a frightened dog, the hands that clean a wound, the hands that provide treatment, and the hands that simply show kindness.God was there in the hands that helped her. ❤️Keep going, Willow. One day at a time. 🐾Justice for Samson Animal Rescuesamsonsjustice.org

Willow’s Healing Journey • Day 6 • 09/20/2026Look at that progress!
🐾 Willow’s Healing Journey | Day 6 • 09/20/2026 💙Willow is doing amazingly well!
Today we’re showing her wound before treatment so everyone following her journey can see the progress. It is beginning to scab over, which is an encouraging sign that healing is underway.
❤️🩹Willow continues to receive excellent care from the wonderful team at Neighborhood Vet Center in Nederland, Texas, and we are incredibly grateful for everything they are doing for our girl. And today brought another first… Willow received gifts from her Amazon Wishlist! 🎁🐾 This package was sent by her rescue using your donations, so THANK YOU for making it possible.
Now, about that inflatable donut… 😂Approximately two seconds. That’s how long Willow tolerated it. Lauren tried a soft cone next. Willow’s verdict? Absolutely not.
She may be sweet as honey, but that Australian Cattle Dog brain knows exactly what she wants and what she most certainly does NOT want. 😂And yes, we bought her the little cow toy. 🐄 We’re fairly certain its life expectancy may be similar to the inflatable donut’s, but it was simply too adorable to resist.
Every day we’re seeing a little more healing and a little more of Willow’s personality.Willow, you are beautiful. Keep going, sweet girl. 💙Justice for Samson Animal Rescuesamsonsjustice.org
God was there in the hands that helped her… and He remains in the hands helping her heal. ✝️🐾

🐾 Willow’s Healing Journey | Day 7 💙✈️
We have some BIG news for Willow today!
Our sweet girl continues to heal, and next week she gets to leave the vet and come to Justice for Samson Animal Rescue! 🥹💙
And Willow won’t be making the journey by car. Our wonderful friend Doug with Pilots N Paws will be flying her to Alice, Texas, where I or one of our volunteers will be waiting to pick her up and bring her the rest of the way home.
From an injured dog alone on the streets…
to veterinary care…
to healing…
and soon, Willow is taking to the skies. ✈️🐾
There are so many hands behind this little girl’s journey. The finder, trapper, donors, veterinary staff, networkers, transporter, pilot, and everyone who shared her story or whispered a prayer for her.
God was there in the hands that helped her. And those hands are about to help bring her home. ✝️❤️
Next stop: Justice for Samson Animal Rescue!
Keep following Willow’s healing journey. The best chapters are still ahead.

🐾 Willow’s Healing Journey | Day 9 • 09/24/2026 💙
Look who has been BUSY! 🐄😂
We are so excited to see Willow happy, playing, and enjoying her little moo cow! After everything this girl has been through, watching her simply get to be a dog is pretty special. ❤️🩹
Willow has made tremendous progress, and we are so grateful for every single person who has poured so much love into her journey.
Her flight to us has been delayed by a day or two because of nasty weather moving in. And that is perfectly okay with us. We would much rather Willow stay safely at the clinic a little longer than rush her trip. ✈️🌧️
Her final treatment is scheduled for Monday. On Tuesday, Willow was spayed and microchipped, checking two more boxes on her road toward a healthy new life! 🐾
Once Willow arrives at Justice for Samson Animal Rescue, she will complete the new slower heartworm treatment protocol under veterinary supervision. She will continue receiving excellent veterinary care every step of the way.
A HUGE thank you to everyone at Neighborhood Vet Clinic (NVC) for taking such amazing care of our girl and, just as importantly, for loving her. 💙 You didn’t simply treat Willow. You helped her feel safe enough to start being Willow again.
And to everyone who donated, shared, prayed, sent gifts, or followed her journey, you are part of this story too.
From wounded and frightened to playing with her moo cow… 🐄💙
Look at you now, Willow.
God was there in the hands that helped her. ✝️🐾

🐾 WILLOW UPDATE: Her Flight Is Delayed Until Monday ❤️We know everyone is anxious to see sweet Willow finally arrive at the rescue, and believe me, we are too! But sometimes loving them means waiting. With Texas preparing for heavy rain, thunderstorms and the possibility of dangerous flash flooding, we have made the decision to delay Willow’s flight until Monday. After everything Texas experienced with devastating flooding, we simply aren’t willing to gamble with safety. Willow matters. Her pilots matter. The people on the ground matter. ✈️🐾Please rest assured that Willow is receiving the absolute best care while she waits. And since our girl gets a few extra days at the clinic, we’re putting them to good use! ❤️ We decided to continue her laser treatments, giving that wound even more time and help to heal. On Friday, Willow is scheduled to receive her heartworm treatment injection. So while we would LOVE to have her home right now, Willow is exactly where she needs to be until Mother Nature settles herself down a little. 🌧️And Lauren sent us some wonderful new pictures today. Just look at that face! Despite everything this little girl has been through, there’s that Willow smile. 🥹❤️Monday, sweet girl. We’re waiting for you.🐾 Justice for Samson Animal Rescuesamsonsjustice.org
